There has been much speculation among Polish fans if they would see Poland return to Eurovision. They have been absent from the contest after the 2011 contest in Germany. The Polish National Broadcaster – TVP – had successfully hosted the Eurovision Young Dancers this year and we hoped that this could see Poland return to Eurovision 2014.
Our good friend Szymon Stellmaszyk at “Lets Talk About ESC” has informed Eurovision Ireland of the following news
“TVP is still counting costs of its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, which is good news for fans. If TVP did not intend to take part in the event, it would have already informed the EBU a TVP spokesman told me a while ago. If these calculations go today to the TVP’s President, the decision may be taken even today. This is not just a matter of the license fee, but the entire delegation. The spokesman has promised to inform on the decision immediately after receiving it.”
We could have a decision on Poland very shortly! Fingers Crossed
Poland’s best result in the contest to date was their debut at the 1994 contest in Dublin – where they placed second with the song “”To nie ja!” performed by Edyta Górniak .
