We have all heard of the financial challenges facing Cyprus over the Summer – and we can understand their pain here in Ireland. If the reports from Cypriot news outlets are to be believed, the Mediterranean island may not be at Eurovision 2014 in Denmark.
Cypriot news agency newsit.com.cy, are claiming that CyBC (Cypriot National Broadcaster) are considering taking a year’s sabbatical from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014.
CyBC’s Senior Board are set to meet shortly and make a decision on their participation in Denmark next year. Our sources close to the Cypriot delegation have indicated that this may indeed maybe the case unless sponsorship may come on board.
Not having Cyprus at Eurovision 2014 would be loss to the contest.
