Before they found fame at Eurovision, many singers came from humble beginnings. That would be the case with our artist today. From this picture would you know who it is?
Born in 1987 – oh how I feel so old right now – he came to major stardom in his home country of Estonia by winning the contest “Eesti otsib lemmiklaulu” or “Estonia is looking for your Favorite Song”. But we have to rewind to 1995/1996 – where he released 4 children’s albums at the tender age of 8 years old.
Here comes the classic song “She’ll Be Coming Round The Mountain” sung in Estonian to a Euro-Pop dance beat. This is a classic “Before They Were Famous” moment. Looking like he is making his communion, here is the very young Ott Lepland, proving that you should never throw away those recordings of your children singing, as they maybe priceless some years later.
We all know that Ott has gone on to more successful things in his career – coming 6th at Eurovision in 2012 in Baku with the song “Kuula”. Last month at the prestigious “Tartu Song Festival” in Estonia, tens of thousands of people sang his song back to him along with a full orchestra accompliment.
“The Little Boy has done good” as they would say.
