Sweden’s Pop and Schlager Prince – Danny Saucedo – came very close to joining the heavy metal rock band called “Crashdïet”. The band call themselves a “Sleaze Band” – and who are we to argue with them!
They formed in Sweden in 2000 and became well know domestically. Following a change in line up, the band were reformed in 2002 by vocalist Dave Lepard. Their début album “Rest In Sleaze” secured them international recognition in the metal world. Tragedy struck in 2006 when Lepard took his own life after suffering from depression.
The band went seeking a new lead singer and would you believe that Danny Saucedo recorded this demo of one of the band’s hits “Falling Rain”. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would say this BUT Danny Saucedo can actually do a good rock/metal vocal!
After much consideration Danny decided that he wanted to go down the pop route musically – Phew! He entered Swedish Idol and the rest as they say is history. Imagine if he had joined Crashdïet – then we would have never have had any of this!
Who would have thought it – Danny Saucedo as a Sleazy Rocker!
