Cezar – who was by far one of the most interesting and talented artists at Eurovision 2013 – has just revealed details of his upcoming collaborations with Eurovision Winner Loreen and Opera Star Sarah Brightman.

Here is a TV interview that Cezar gave to Romanian News channel where he told them of his upcoming duets plus some interesting insights into his modesty and feelings on his looks. He may not be the extrovert that we all think.

Now if you are like me – I don’t speak that much Romanian – but a huge thanks to our very good friend here at Eurovision Ireland – Andreea Wade – who translated the interview for us all.

The most criticised but at the same time, praised Eurovision artist, Cezar Ouatu is working on a few collaborations of great importance for his career: He will have alongside him two well know international  (female) artists .

HOW DID CEZAR’S LIFE CHANGE?

Reporter voice over:

His name was on everyone’s lips when he took part in Eurovision. He received a lot of praise but also a lot of criticism. Cezar Ouatu didn’t remove himself from the limelight after the comments (feedback) he got from his own country. On the contrary.

Cezar:

I feel proud, regardless of all the jokes, the satire, the names or whatever, doesn’t matter. I’m proud that my name is Ouatu and that I’m carrying on my father’s name.

SINGING WITH LOREEN AND SARAH BRIGHTMAN?

Reporter voiceover:

Cezar was well liked in Sweden and this is one of the reasons why he has given his career a new focus that includes this country: he is preparing collaborations with Loreen but also with Sarah Brightman.

Cezar:

I am very happy because Ouatu will shine… and we will see, I think we already saw this at Eurovision; it is visible to me as it reflects my career, my future projects, in my collaborations that are currently in a project phase, with Loreen, with Sarah Brightman – why not, on my first project, my first album, Pop Opera and I think these things matter.

HOW DID HIS LIFE CHANGE?

Cezar: I’m trying to remain grounded, same as I was. My life has changed in lovely ways, what can I say, for example when I go to the petrol station and I get asked ‘’Sorry to intrude, are you who I think you are?’’ …and I find these moments funny, so I ask ‘’Who do you think I am, Al Pacino? No, you are wrong’’ ‘’Ah Mr. Cezar’’. These things flatter me to be honest and they make me feel good. I live off these insignificant things.

Voiceover:

Regardless of what people say, Cezar is proud of his work and whatever you’d think, you can’t actually say he isn’t filled with modesty.

Cezar:

I am very self-critical, I am not a narcissist, I really don’t like myself, not even in photos, or when I don’t sing well. I’m nobody’s lab rat, I wouldn’t step onto a stage if I’m not comfortable/don’t resonate.

Cezar was always one of the most popular artists on our site at Eurovision 2013 and we are very pleased to see his career going from strength to strength. He proves that Eurovision is a launching platform for your career if you put the work, effort and drive into it. A lesson for all the artists out there who sneer at the contest.
