Farid Mammadov brought Azerbaijan to second place at Eurovision 2013 with his song “Hold Me”. We already reported on his plans for the next year and possibly returning to Eurovision again like Dima Bilan.
On June 7th, Farid will be attending in Moscow, the MUZ TV Awards. The night will be full of Russian Eurovision stars from 2008 winner Dima Bilan and Dina Garipova who brought Russia to 5th place in this year’s contest. However we are looking forward to seeing Russian Mega Star (and she is) Alla Pugacheva who was the ultimate “Primadonna” when she represented Russia at Eurovision in 1997 in Dublin.

The MUZ TV Awards are one of the most prestigious ceremonies in the Russian Entertainment calendar and Farid being invited to attend is a sign of his popularity. Let’s just hope they don’t ask him for Russia’s “10 points” while there.
Farid is also very thankful for Phillip Kirkorov’s support of him in the run up to Eurovision 2013. Kirkorov (who himself represented Russia at Eurovision in 1995) was publicly touting Farid for Eurovision success on shows like “Evening with Urgant” and “Today Tonight” – which are some of the countries top rated television shows.
“I can’t believe I was lucky enough to get support from such a talented and respectable man,” said Farid. “I’m very grateful to Phillip for his warm words before the Contest. It was very important for me. Also I’m very happy to have common friends with Phillip after Eurovision: the Greek team Fokas Evangelinos and Dimitris Kontopoulos, and the dancer from Kirkorov’s dance team, Alexander Kuzmenko, who performed on stage with me. I hope that in the future I am again lucky enough to work with Phillip. For me, it would be a great pleasure of him tobecome producer of the Russian version for my Eurovision song Hold Me. Also, maybe one day we could sing in a duet?”
There is a fantastic dance remix of Farid’s Eurovision “Hold Me” song being played on ESCRadio and we managed to find it on Soundcloud. Expect to find this version doing the rounds of Eurovision events across Europe this summer.
