Last Night Linda Martin took to live Irish television to break her silence concerning the “Drag Queen” comments made by Eurovision Host Petra Mede at the Grand Final of this year’s contest. Linda Martin was the final guest on “The Saturday Night Show” presented bu Brendan O’Connor. You can see the full interview in the below link from the RTE Player – scroll to 46 minutes in the video

Linda spoke of being in the arena for the show but actually missing the entire skit from Petra. She revealed that it was only after the show when she started to receive countless messages over the comments made by the Swedish host. However these requests have led to hundreds of offers of work for both her and Johnny Logan over Europe and Linda said that she is fully booked up for the next few months. Her first stop is Hungry and then on to Austria. I think one calls that karma! Also we think we “know a drag queen when we see one too” – sorry Petra but what were you thinking

Linda went on to talk of what she thought were the issues of Eurovision and what needs to change. She also said that the Irish public may have become cynical of the contest due to the years of commentary of Terry Wogan – we have to agree.
Linda said that she would consider a return to Eurovision if Johnny Logan would write a song for her and her friend and music mogul Louis Walsh, would promote the song. Linda Martin for 2014 anyone?

She could have been called worse!! mutton dressed as mutton comes to mind!
Linda Martin is a bitch. Plain and simple.
Petra Mede was brilliant in her humour, and if it offended Linda, it says more about her than Petra. She actually deserves worse than a VERY FUNNY friendly jibe.
I don’t know why some of the Irish webmasters (i.e. you and Keith Mills) insist on taking Linda Martin’s side in this. She is a person who is not worthy of respect.
I don’t think it is a case of taking sides Eoin – We loved Petra’s hosting of the show and her comedy skits – we even wrote that the interval act in the Grand Final was the best since Riverdance in 1994. We merely stated the facts and showed Linda’s response – she is getting a lot of business out of the incident and Petra got a lot of coverage because of it – sounds like a Win/Win for all
It was a joke that will of been writtern for her not like she called her a child killer or anything bad Get a grip!
