Alyona – who will represent Belarus at Eurovision 2013 withe the song “Solayoh” – has released her official video of her entry. One was expecting a fiesta on the beach but what we get is mild bondage and Alexander Rybak for 2 seconds – blink and you will miss him!

The video eventually makes it to a the sunny beaches of Istanbul where the video was shot. However the first 2 minutes find Alyona in a dark bar with some scantily clad men wearing harnesses and women with what looks like cast off costumes of prison inmates striped uniforms from Banarama’s “Love in the First Degree”.
Alyona herself has her coat removed and then dons a PVC hooded top. All a long way from the sunny sounding “Solayoh” where I was expecting cocktails and sombreros . There was a lot of publicity made about the appearance of Alexander Rybak in the video – and you have to wait until the very end of the video to see him on a beach and doing a back flip – well a stunt double.
Not what we were expecting but none the less it makes for interesting viewing and raises the anticipation for the live performance in Malmo. What do you think?

I may not like the way Belarus goes about with it’s selection process (there always seems to be some sort of controversy or dodgy stuff going on) but I can’t shake this summery little number from my system.
