More news from Ireland and the upcoming Eurosong 2013 final.Mentor Stuart O’Connor has informed us here at Eurovision Ireland that he has just completed a music video for his act’s upcoming Eurosong entry. There is also a photograph teasing us of his act saying “Who is in front of the camera?”
Now your guess is as young as mine – but on closer inspection it looks like a solo artist and possibly dark hair.
Now since that has happened we saw a tweet from “JedEurovision” to Stuart saying “” hmmm we see a certain Irishman has just cancelled some UK dates in February…”
Is this a hint to Stuart’s act? So we trawled the net to see if any Irish act has cancelled concerts in the Uk and look what we found. Northern Irish indie rock bank “General Fiasco” have just cancelled their UK February tour dates. So we have contacted Stuart and are awaiting confirmation.
General Fiasco are a band from Bellaghy Northern Ireland and were nominated for the Kerrang Award for “Best British Newcomer” in 2010 and have been championed by Zane Lowe and Jo Whiley at the BBC. The band are made up of Owen Strathern (Bass and Lead Vocals), Enda Strathern (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Stephen “Leaky” Leacock (Drums and Percussion) and Stuart Bell (Guitar, Keyboards and Percussion)

It seems that this year the Eurosong acts are certainly making the effort to create an impression.
Stuart runs Spotlight Productions and has been credited with producing Jedward’s tours Carnival, Victory and Young Love as well as their Pantos in the Olympia Theatre. He is heavily involved with developing new talent in Ireland so we are expecting great things from his Eurosong Act.
