NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster, have confirmed their continued non-participation, at the 2027 Eurovision Young Musicians, in LiepÄja.
In 2026, NRK withdrew before the Contest in Yerevan, having taking part in every Contest between 1982 and 2024, with the exception of 1984 when they participated as a combined Nordic entry. Norway have taken victory once in 2012, while they have hosted twice, in 2000 (Bergen) and 2024 (BodĆø). A spokesperson for NRK, had the following to say:
āNRK will not participate in the contest in 2027. We are currently developing ways to showcase talent across various genres, and we hope this will create an even stronger platform for young musicians in Norway.
We continue to value our cooperation within the European Broadcasting Union and remain open to returning to the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in the future.ā
