NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster, have revealed the return of MGPjr in 2027 – but not as a Junior Eurovision Song Contest national selection, for now.
NRK will open applications for MGPjr this year, before it takes place next year, in 2027. NRK has also revealed that there are currently no plans to return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. NRK’s Customer Service department, had the following to say:
“The application process for MGPjr will begin this year, but the programme itself is scheduled for 2027.
NRK has no current plans for Norway to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, therefore MGPjr will not serve as our selection for Junior Eurovision 2026.”
