Yesterday the Big 4 , France, Germany , UK and Italy plus the hosts Austria , took to the stage for the very first time . As we promised yesterday, here’s pictures of their first rehearsals .

Italy Sal da Vinci “Per sempre si “

The staging depicts wedding preparations and all looks very glamorous, with Sal dressed in white. He’s accompanied by three backing dancers acting as his best men and the blushing bride is there too. It all looks very typical Italian staging . Will be interesting to see a video clip of this .

Germany -Sarah Engels -“Fire”

Sarah is dressed in gold and has brought a cube shaped stage prop with her.She’s wearing an all in one suit with the corset part designed to reflect flames .She’s joined by four dancers, also dressed in gold. There’s apparently more to the performance that the German delegation have asked not to be revealed yet but there are going to be pyros . I think this is one of Germany’s strongest entries for many years !

France-Monroe “Regarde”

Monroe is in a white gown, which looks rather glam and makes Monroe look older than her 17 years. She starts off in smoke, then is seen on a small podium at the back of the stage. She then walks to the front of the stage where there is another podium, where she meets her five backing dancers and there’s more smoke. It looks very typically French and another that I can’t wait for the first rehearsal video clips to see.

United Kingdom-Look Mum, No Computer “Eins , Zwei, Drei

The one I personally have been waiting to see, our Sam, a.k.a Look Mum , No Computer. The staging more or less replicates the promotion video with Sam dressed in his boiler suit but it’s had a bit of a makeover . Dusky pink with silver strips , complete with Doc Martin boots. He’s joined on stage by backing dancers , who act as his office co-workers with furry hats on that resemble desktop computer screens. It looks a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see actual video footage of this !

Austria -Cosmo “Tanzschein”

And finally we come to the host country , Austria . They obviously have no desire to win again this year and Cosmo won the ticket to represent his country on home soil after , what I consider to be an average national final . As expected from t. The National Final he’s brought his animals to Vienna and he starts the performance by lying with them.They then get up and do their dance moves.It won’t win but may get a decent enough result for the host country.

So that’s the first rehearsals for the Big 4 plus Austria.Later we hope to bring you video clips from the 2nd rehearsals of the first half of Semi Final 2 and the second rehearsals of the Big 4 plus Austria.So please do keep a look out !
