The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, have confirmed discussions on Israeli participation will take place.
The European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) media director, Jean Philip De Tender, has confirmed the discussions following requests from a number of national broadcasters. Jean Philip De Tender had the following to say:
“It’s not the EBU’s place to make political statements. But we also understand that something like the Eurovision Song Contest has a major political impact.
We’ll debate at a high level in the coming weeks. We’ll analyse members’ expectations and engage in conversations, and then we’ll make a decision.”
