Here today Gone tomorrow

#Here today , Gone tomorrow:Continuing our series on the past Swiss stars of Eurovision.

The new Eurovision season is now on us and during the build up to National Final Season and the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, we at Eurovision Ireland felt it would be timely to continue with our Here Today, Gone Tomorrow series , where we look at past Eurovision performers and where they are and what they are doing now . As Switzerland are our host country for 2025, we have decided to focus this series entirely on the past Swiss performers at Eurovision .

Today , we take a trip back to 2011, when Anna Rossinelli represented the host nation for 2025 with her song “In love for a while “.

It is somewhat ironic, that Anna was born in Basel, which is the host city for 2025..She is a Swiss song -writer/singer and sings in a trio band, which performs under her name. In 2010,Anna won the contest “Die grosse Entscheidungs show ” , which was the contest to select the Swiss representative at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf , Germany . Anna took part in the first Semi Final there , reaching the final only due to the Jury vote. At the Final, she came last with her song “In love for a while” with just 19 points.

After the contest in May 2011, Anna released a single from her album, Bon Voyage , called “Joker ” in October 2011.Up to 2019 , she released four more albums, Marylou in 2013 , Marylou 2 in 2014. One of the singles from Marylou Two, “Shine in the light ” was the official broadcasting song for Swiss broadcaster SRF for their coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The last two albums “Takes Two to Tango and “White Garden ” in 2015 and 2019 respectively . Anna has also released many singles , the last one to chart in Switzerland was “Victoria Line in 2020, which she featured on with Pegasus .

With Anna being a native of Basel, we wonder , will she make an appearance at the Eurovision song Contest in Basel, as one of the interval acts?
