#BIRTHDAY: Mija Martina from Bosnia & Herzegovina is 39 today

Our friends in Bosnia and Herzegovina have never won, and as they’re sitting contests out these days, it could be a long while before we ever see a contest in Sarajevo.

For many years they were avid participants. Over the years, they had a range of finishes between 3rd and 22nd. Today’s birthday girl Mija Martina (Barbarić) finished neither particularly well not spectacularly badly. But she did participate in the biggest contest ever staged at the time. However, even though 25 countries could vote for her, only three did. And one of those gave her a maximum. One day, we hope, Bosnia and Herzegovina will come back.
