#BIRTHDAY: Estíbaliz Uranga from Spain is 70 today

Do you remember the 1970s? An interesting decade when the whole of Europe eventually went colour, replete with the garish outfits. Thankfully, some countries went through that stage fairly quickly.

In 1975, we had a mix, and it looked like Spain’s outfits had settled down a bit. Today’s birthday girl Estíbaliz Uranga paired up with fellow Basque Sergio Blanco. She’d just missed out on Mocedades’ performance in 1973, so finally got the gig two years later. Unlike that other act, Estíbaliz managed 10th place. There was strong competition in this first contest in Sweden, and if you follow it closely, you’ll see the first ever maximum of 12 points ever handed out.
