Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, have confirmed that they will not be debuting at the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Yerevan, Armenia.
Teija Rantala, Head of Yle Children’s Department, had the following to say:
“At Finnish Yle we have not participated in the competition for various reasons, but one of them is that we do not want to create new child stars or feel comfortable with children competing in these types of shows.”
