#ESC22: Bulgaria’s Eurovision Story So Far

On the lead up to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which is been held in Turin, we are looking back at the countries participating in the Contest and their histories – past and present. Today we continue with Bulgaria’s story.

Bulgaria debuted at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Kaffe participated with “Lorraine”, finishing in 19th place in the Semi Final and 49 points.

Bulgaria have cracked the Top 5 three times. Elitsa & Stoyan represented Bulgaria at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, in Helsinki, Finland. They participated with “Water”, finishing in 5th place and 157 points.

Poli Genova represented Albania at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, in Stockholm, Sweden. She participated with “If Love Was a Crime”, finishing in 4th place and 307 points.

Kristian Kostov represented Bulgaria at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, in Kyiv, Ukraine. He participated with “Beautiful Mess”, finishing in 2nd place and 615 points.

Victoria represented Bulgaria at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She participated with “Growing Up Is Getting Old”, finishing in 11th place and 170 points.

The Intelligent Music Project will represent Bulgaria at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, in Turin, Italy. They will perform “Intention”. Will they take Bulgaria’s first victory?
