
On the lead up to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which is been held in Turin, we are looking back at the countries participating in the Contest and their histories – past and present. Today we continue with Albania’s story.
Albania debuted at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, in Istanbul, Turkey. Anjeza Shahini participated with “The Image of You”, finishing in 7th place and 106 points.
Albania have cracked the Top 5 once. Rona Nishliu represented Albania at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, in Baku, Azerbaijan. She participated with “Suus”, finishing in 5th place and 146 points.
Anxhela Peristeri represented Albania at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She participated with “Karma”, finishing in 21st place and 57 points.
Ronela Hajati will represent Albania at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, in Turin, Italy. She will perform “Sekret”. Will she take Albania’s first victory?
