
RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, have announced the launch of Hispavisión, a song contest for Ibero-America, Spanish speaking world.
Hispavisión is due to make its debut in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia next year, with invitations already known to be have sent to Brazil and Portugal. José Manuel Pérez Tornero, President of RTVE, revealed that a working group is been formed to decide on the rules and format.
The OTI Festival last took place in 2000 and was a Song Contest for the Hispanic-speaking world. Chirino Sisters took victory for the USA, with their entry “Mala hierba”. You can watch the performance below:
