Such a fine tune. You can’t stay still. Will Lithuania give us another gem this year? Stay tuned …
Tonight’s presenters are Giedrius Masalskis, Ieva Stasiulevičiūtė and Richardas Jonaitis.

The winner of Pabandom iš naujo 2022 will be chosen by a combined score: 50% jury and 50% televote.
In case you’re just reading this, tonight we will have 8 acts competing to represent Lithuania in Turin later this year.
And these are the jury members, responsible for 50% of the result we’ll have in a few hours.

Let’s start with the competitors!
Lolita Zero – “Not Your Mother“

Lolita Zero is back back back again and this time we are treated to a more serious route. A trance-beat that is almost hypnotic and I love it! Lolita is an act that can spark controversy, but you can’t deny you’re hooked from the beginning. Is it wrong and singing along? For a Eurovision act, to be able to join in is a big plus. I can imagine this to be a huge hit in the Euroclub. Curious what the jury will think about it. Does it float your boat? I enjoyed it.
Ieva Zasimauskaitė – “I’ll Be There”

Ieva has had a rough time since she presented ‘When we’re old’ (getting divored) and this feels like a hymn for self-empowerment. I am extremely happy that she ditched the piano and this time Ieva is not hiding. She is showing her raw emotions. Some great songs were born through the singer’s own pain. This song aspires to be just that. You go girl, the power is in you. We can see your light.
Rūta Loop – “Call Me From the Cold”

Ruta’s song starts gentle and hypnotic like a galactic lullaby. The rhythm progresses to a mid -tempo but it is still mesmerizing. It reminds me of another song from Robin, which is not bad. I’ve enjoyed it, but I think I was expecting something a bit more powerful. Yes, Ruta did her best to perform this song, shame that something was missing.
Gebrasy – “Into Your Arms“

Well I find myself captivated by this song. Gebrasy is giving us a believable performance even though some of the moves seem forced. I love his voice and you can’t go wrong with a song of how relationships struggle. One is fire, one is ice, complementing each other or hurting each other. With a bit of work on the staging, this has potential. Did you enjoy it?
Justė Kraujelytė – “How to Get My Life Back“

Something in Juste’s voice reminds me of Alanis Morrissette. This is has a catchy hook and feels quite angry in some places but the intention of getting control back is there. It’s quite an intriguing composition and I’m not the biggest fan of what she’s wearing. Will she get her life back with a ticket to Turin? I doubt it, but that was enjoyable to tap my feet to.
Queens of Roses – “Washing Machine“

This is fun! I hate the title of the song but I’m digging the rhythm. It’s a pop candy until it gets to the ‘chorus’ which I don’t get it but wabawabawaba hey :)) Are they getting soap in their mouths? Nevertheless, this was definitely not boring. I enjoyed their energy and I can see people going either way. Love it or hate it. Which option are you choosing?
Monika Liu – “Sentimentai”

This sounds instantly like a classic. It could’ve fitted well in the 60’s James Bond movies. The sound is a mix of pop and jazz with some disco elements. I can see why sentimentai is favourite to win tonight. It’s unique and has the potential to stand out in a sea of familiar sounds. Elegant and groovy. Yes please!
Augustė Vedrickaitė ft. Under – “Before You’re 6 ft Under”

Everyone who knows me, know I love rock music. This comes close even though it is a country pop, but I love that electric guitar. Just when I thought I heard what this song could do, we get a bit of a rap section. I won’t lie, this is so 80’s and 90’s and I have nothing against it. Is it Eurovision material, I’m not sure but I will listen to it again with pleasure.
That was it folks. Now it’s time for the Lithuanian public to vote! Who is your favourite?
The Roops is back again on the stage while we wait. Is it ok to say I enjoy how Vaidotas sings ‘Let’s get naked!’?

I’m not really sure who to put my money on because I like a couple of the song’s we’ve heard tonight. I think that combined might be Monica Liu. Having said that , I like Gebrasy as well. Hmm though one.
Lithuania, STOP VOTING!
What a tune was/is ‘On Fire’! I am convinced it would’ve been a real contender to win the whole contest in 2020 if only we would’ve been able to have one.

So the winner of both Jury and televote is Monika Liu. Congratulations and see you in Turin.
Thank you all for following this blog tonight!
