#JESC22: The BBC & United Kingdom Could Join

During the European Broadcasting Union’s Press Conference, held alongside France TV last Friday, the now annual question was asked whether or not the United Kingdom would return to participating at the Contest as a whole nation. Martin Österdahl, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor, had the following to say:

“It’s possible we can get the BBC to join.”

Previously, ITV took on the participation for the whole of the United Kingdom during the first three Contests – 2003, 2004 and 2005. S4C took on participating for Wales in 2018 and 2019, but have since withdrawn due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

  1. i prefer the uk as one because then then can bring back junior eurovision the british final which ran from 2003 to 2005 plus kids could write there own songs unlike s4c for wales and also maybe even gaelic

  2. The same for me ! I would like to see Scotland make their debut too.
If the BBC represents only England, then OK.

  3. I prefer Wales to take part as we hear Welsh. If uk return it will be just English and Wales cannot take part again.
