
RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster, have opened song submissions for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. All nationalities can apply, with the deadline set for Friday 10th December.
It has also been announced that Montevizija due to financial and Coronavirus pandemic resasons – therefore an internal selection is likely. Ivan Maksimović, RTCG’s Head of Entertainment, had the following to say:
“The first reason is related to the costs involved in organising the competition, and it is a large amount that, for example, can be redirected to other projects. The second reason concerns the coronavirus pandemic. We do not know what will be and how it will be, so no we would like to get into a situation where we are exposed to several months of efforts in that environment and then the competition will be uncertain.”
