
Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that are participating this year in Rotterdam. Today, we celebrate Lithuania.
Slovenia debuted at the Contest in 1993, in Millstreet, Ireland. 1X Band finished in twenty second place with their entry “Tih deževen dan”, scoring 9 points.
The most successful entry from Slovenia was in 1995 and 2001. In 1995, when the Contest took place in Dublin, Ireland, Darja Švajger finished in seventh place with her entry “Prisluhni mi”, scoring 84 points.
In 2001, when the Contest took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, Nuša Derenda finished in seventh place with her entry “Energy”, scoring 70 points.
The most recent Slovenian entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Ana Soklič was due to represent Slovenia with her entry “Voda”.
This year, Slovenia will be represented by Ana Soklič with her song “Amen”. Will Ana Soklič take Slovenia to their first victory?
