RAI, the Italian national broadcaster have expressed their hope to return to the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, following the withdrawal from this year’s Contest. Simona Martorelli, the Head of Delegation, had the following to say:

“At the moment, all of our efforts are dedicated to delivering an incredible Eurovision Song Contest in May 2021. It is too early to think about what will happen for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 but we hope of course that we can bring together the Italian delegation for the Junior Eurovision Family.”

Children’s programming on RAI have changed focus during the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead of entertainment programming that is usually broadcast, educational programming is currently been broadcast.
