
Over the course of November and on the lead up to the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Spain.
Spain debuted at the inaugural Contest in 2003, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Sergio finished in second place with his entry “Desde el cielo”, scoring 125 points. This included two sets of twelve points – from Latvia and the United Kingdom.
The most successful entry from Spain was in 2004, when the Contest took place in Lillehammer, Norway. Maria Isabel finished in first place with her entry “Antes muerta que sencilla”, scoring 171 points. This included eight sets of twelve points – from Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland.
The most recent Spanish entry was in 2019, when the Contest took place in Gliwice, Poland. Melani Garcia finished in third place with her entry “Marte”, scoring 212 points. This included two sets of twelve points – from Albania and the Italy.
This year, Spain will be represented by Solea with her song “Palante”. Will Solea take Spain to their second victory?
