Russia is the eighth country to confirm their participation at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest – the one main EBU Contest that has yet to be cancelled or postponed due to Coronavirus this year.
Russian broadcaster VGTRK will once again be working in conjunction with the Igor Krutoy Academy of Popular Music. Applications can be made from next Monday (6th April), through to Tuesday 25th August.
Once the applications have closed, an audition round will take place on Monday 7th September. The Final of the National Selection will be filmed as-live on Wednesday 16th September, ahead of broadcast on Saturday 19th September.
The winner will be decided by 50% Online voting and 50% Jury voting. Online voting will open when the Finalists are announced, while voting will close during the broadcast. As the National Selection will be broadcasted as-live, it is unknown how the winner will be announced.
