He’s back – James’ nephew and Eurovision Ireland’s youngest contributor, 6 year-old Jack is taking a look at the rest of the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019!
After giving us his thoughts on songs heading to Junior Eurovision in Minsk last year, we were keen to invite Jack back for the adult’s contest to see what he makes of the songs heading to Tel Aviv. He’s already had a listen to the songs taking part in the first half of Semi Final 1, so now it’s time for the second half
As it’s far too early for rehearsal footage and live versions of all songs aren’t readily available yet, Jack watched the official videos of this year’s entries with James. Here are some of his unfiltered observations and comments – if Jack hasn’t reviewed your favourites yet, be patient! Semi Final 2 is coming soon!
AUSTRALIA – ZERO GRAVITY
*bops along in time to the music* I wish I could give it all the points! *shrieks when Kate does*
BELGIUM – WAKE UP
Where is Belgium? (Between France and Germany, Jack) Oh… is this really their song? (Yes, yes it is) *covers ears and shakes head* I just don’t like it… *grabs remote and turns volume right down* it looks like there’s lots of people in a sewer…
ESTONIA – STORM
*copies Victor and sings into a pen in time to the song while waving his arm* …. I hate it! (James is utterly confused) That’s a bone crusher! (James is even more confused and moves swiftly on…)
GEORGIA – SUL TSIN IARE
*fidgets and pulls faces* Why is he singing in a dressing gown? Nope…
GREECE – BETTER LOVE
*copies Katherine’s arm movements* I like her voice. Most of the time they’re all boys, so it makes a nice change they’re all girls
ICELAND – HATRIÐ MUN SIGRA
*watches for a few seconds, working it out) I love it!! I like scary stuff!! What those 3 at the back are doing it looks like the Fortnite dance! And they’ve added some animals too, that man’s on the floor like a dog! 0___0
PORTUGAL -TELEMÓVEIS
*jumps to his feet and dances wildly to the music* It’s fun! And they’re in feather costumes like chickens!
SAN MARINO – SAY NA NA NA
He could have done better but he didn’t… eh…
So after looking at the last of the song take part in the 1st Semi Final, Jack ranks them like this:
1st – AUSTRALIA
2nd – GREECE
3rd – ICELAND
4th – PORTUGAL
5th – BELGIUM
6th – SAN MARINO
7th – GEORGIA
8th – ESTONIA
We’d like to remind everyone reading that if you’ve taken offence to anything said about your favourites, these are only Jack’s opinions and he is a child – so don’t take it so seriously!
It’s bedtime now, but Jack will be back soon to give us more of his unique and insightful perspective on the songs heading to the Eurovision Song Contest 2019!!
