Jacek Kurski, the President of TVP, has taken to local media to discuss what he expects for the Host City of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Poland. He told Wirtualnemedia.pl:
“The Specification of Conditions will be presented, taking into account primarily the quality of the hall, its availability – it must be available a month before the Eurovision to prepare it for this event, and the budget that the city will submit for financial installation with TVP to enter the co-organization of this event. I do not hide that we are conducting television very economically, it will be an important criterion for us. There are many cities that have good halls. Unfortunately, Warsaw is not a favorite – Torwar is a bit rough and unsatisfactory acoustically … Other Polish cities have much better halls than Warsaw. We will have something to ponder on. On the other hand, it happened only four times that a city that was not the capital, organized a party, so it would also be exceptional.”
Cities thought to have been approached for hosting duties include Szczecin, Warsaw, Krakow, Gdańsk, Łódź, Gliwice and Katowice.
