The Swiss entry for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest edition in Kiev, Ukraine will be selected through the national final ESC 2017 – Die Entscheidungsshow on 5 February 2017.

The winning entry will be selected exclusively via a public televote from the 6 finalists revealed earlier this month.

Eurovision Ireland team got the chance to meet up with one of the candidates: Timebelle and they were kind enough to give us a short interview for you, our readers. Here is what they told us:

Hello Timebelle! Thank you for taking the time to speak with us!

We know you previously tried to represent Switzerland back in 2015. What made you decide to try again this year?

We decided to try again thanks to the great feedback we had two years ago. We finished on the 2nd place by the jury’s vote and on the 1st place by the public’s vote. There were quite a lot of messages and people asking us to try again, but we didn’t feel we had a good song in our hands last year. This year though we are very content about “Apollo”, so, here we are again!

What are your favorite Eurovision Songs?

“Euphoria”, “Heroes”.

 

What about your favorite treats?

Favourite treats, hmmm, chocolate, good wine and good food.(like fries :))

Can you recommend a special place for tourists who want to visit Switzerland?

There are amazing places to visit everywhere in Switzerland, but a must seen would have to be Zermatt, Jungfraujoch, Thun Lake, etc.

Can you tell us more about your song “Apollo”?

“Apollo” is a song that can be interpreted in many ways. The way somebody perceives a song is absolutely subjective. It could be a love song but it could also be a gift to the God of art himself, Apollo.

What would it mean to you to represent Switzerland at Eurovision Song Contest 2017?

A dream come true. It would be amazing to perform in front of so many people, it always seemd like an incredible energy at Eurovision, each year.
