Eurovision 2016

Today at JESC: Monday 14th November

JESC2016-1

Rehearsals do not kick off until tomorrow morning, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything happening here on the island of Malta. Andrew and I arrived here on Saturday evening ready to bring you all the action as it happens, starting today!

Tonight sees the Red Carpet and Welcome Party take place at the Manoel Theatre here in Valletta and will be hosted by Taryn Mamo Cefai. For those wishing to watch the event take place tonight, it’ll be broadcast here in Malta on their main channel TVM, at 18:15-20:00 CET.

Last year, while I was writing with another website team, I was lucky enough to join Ewan Spence and his team behind the scenes of the Red Carpet, where Terry Vision was allowed to interview not only the participants, but some of the delegation members too. The following took place at the Palace of Culture in Sofia.

We will of course be bringing you some Periscope coverage throughout the week too – hopefully in the form of some sort of daily recaps after rehearsals have taken place. We might even bring something live to you during our lunch breaks too!!! Keep an eye on those all important Periscope links on our Twitter feed.

Don’t forget to also join our friends from ESC Insight every night on Radio Six International 18:30-19:00 GMT where their daily radio show will be broadcast. Tonight Andrew and I join the team to preview this year’s contest.
