LIVE BLOG at 20:00 CET

Here we go people – Heat 3 – and I get this will be the most interesting yet this year!

Recap of last weeks results!

Sanna ans Robin delivered by express post to the stage – I hope there wasn’t any excess weight!

Sanna and Robin Delivered

Not one but TWO intro songs. Song two gets my 12 points. Robin showing his skills are better served on the decks as opposed to singing #JustSaying 😉

Robin Spinning the Decks

The audience are pumped up tonight! It must be a red bull and coffee night in Deltävling

Has anyone else noticed the size of Sanna’s earings! You could swing out of them!

Ellen Benediktsson – Insomnia

Garrett’s Comments

The best way to describe this is to think Fifty Shades of Grey bondage meets Tron meets Paul Oscar (Iceland 1997). This is not the Ellen ‘Songbird’ that we saw last year but that is not a bad think. All grown up is our Ellen and looking and sounding sassy and sexy. This is a moody song and not a schlager-tastic entry. I – like many other straight men I guess – would like to see this song again. Of Fifty Shades of Grey just got the MelFest treatment!

Kalle Johansson – För Din Skull

Garrett Comments

Ah Bless! This was ‘Glee’ but without all the Hollywood sparkle. Very dated and very tentative – Ellen must have scared Kalle with her whip before he came on stage! All very forgettable. So now back to the adults and the contenders!

Everyone Pays In Sweden and Sanna doesn’t come cheap!

Everyone Pays in Sweden

Andreas Weise – Bring Out The Fire

Andreas Wise

Garrett’s Comments

Oh hose me down someone cause I’m burning up! I’m not sure if it is the snug trousers on Andreas but this song has me melting here! What a funky pop song that I wasn’t expecting from Andreas or dare I say it from G:sonn! Well that has certainly got the party started! By far the best song tonight and dare I say it best we have heard this year at MelFest! Hot Hot Hot!

Andreas Johnson – Living To Die

Garrett’s Comments

Can we first of all talk about the hair! It looks like the love child of Barry Manilow and Bob Geldof! Not having a GHD! As for the song – it has a slight James Bond feel to it but needs to go from Lada to Astin Martin which it didn’t really do. This is touch and go. I was barely ‘Living to the End of the Song’! But that HAIR!

Isa – Don’t Stop

Garrett’s Comments

Ol – Isa looks like Ace Wilder after a good wash and make-over! Well she’s certainly “living it up in this To-o-o-o-o-wn”. A poppy little ditty that will have the kids of Sweden voting for sure! A wind machine always helps. The crowd seemed to like it but for me I like being ‘Busy Doing Nothing’.

Kristin Amparo – I See You

Garrett’s Comments

Am I the only person thought I was listening to Adele and ‘Someone Like You’? Now that is not me dissing Kristin at all. The woman can sing and this song is an anthem for all of us who have been jilted and hit the ice cream for several days after the break-up. This has surprised me totally and it seems that the Swedish long nights have them loving some dark and sombre music. A dark horse here!

Time for Sanna’s dental appointment!

Jon Henrik Fjällgren – Jag Är Fri (Manne Liem Frije)

Jon Henrik

Garrett’s Comments

Ok – I am saying it now but this is your Melodifestivalen Winner – well of the public vote for sure. Jon has enlisted the support of Kate Bush from her ‘Wuthering Heights’ days. He is from Colombia but with Swedish parents and was the winner of Sweden’s Got Talent. This is modern traditional Swedish Music and it sounds bloody great!

kate Bush

Direct to Final for sure!

Ok here I go with my predictions. I can think we can rule our Kalle Johansson and Andreas Johnsson.

Them I would have Jon Henrik Fjallgren and Andreas Weise Direct to Final

Then I would have Kristin Ampro for the Second Chance and then a battle between Isa and Ellen for the last place for the second chance. Personally I would have Ellen but I think the Swedes will go for Isa. We will see.

Now the Interval acts!

Ok – I got the Top 5 right as Kalle and Andreas Johnson were eliminated

Top 5 - Heat 3

Now some of Sweden’s most celebrated musicians will perform for your delight!

Jon Henrik Fjällgren – Jag Är Fri (Manne Liem Frije) – Told you so!

Isa – Don’t Stop

Second Chance

Andreas Weise – Bring Out The Fire

Kristin Amparo – I See You

Garrett’s Comments

So I got the right 4 but not in the right order but I’ll take that. What do you think of the results?
