What happens when the BBC hit show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ meets Eurovision – an explosion of fake tan, sequins, a lot of dancing and of course scoring!
Your weekend starts early with the return of Strictly Come Dancing this Friday night on BBC 1 in the UK. 15 couples will start the contest this week – that is like a Eurovision Semi Final!
Why the Eurovision link?
We are very interested to see Simon Webbe from the band Blue who were chart toppers and UK Eurovision representatives in 2011. ‘I Can’ will be his mantra no doubt throughout the contest. But there is more!
BBC DJ and TV presenter Scott Mills will be taking to the contest. Scott Mills has commentated on the Semi Finals at Eurovision so it will be interesting to see how he copes with being on the receiving end of some sharp comments.
Betting Odds
In the betting odds at the moment according to Paddy Power – it is not looking good for Scott Mills. For outright winner he is down in 13th place out of 15 contestants to win at odds of 50/1. Oh ‘Null Points’ potentially.

As for Simon Webbe – well the betting public think that he will be able to use those muscles and rhythm to good use – I could think of plenty of others! I digress, Simon is joint third favourite to win at odds of 6/1. That could be a nice ‘8 Points’!
This weeks Dances
The show will begin on Friday evening on BBC 1 at 21:00 (GMT) where 6 couples will perform and the remaining 9 acts will compete on Saturday evening.
Scott and his professional dance partner Joanne will be performing the Cha Cha to ‘Rock DJ’ by Robbie Williams.
Simon and his professional dance partner Kristina will be performing the Jive to ‘Good Golly Miss Molly’ by Little Richard.
We will bring you a weekly update on the show for all you readers from around Europe and beyond!
‘All Rise’ as ‘Strictly’ and ‘Eurovision’ are in da house! SEVEN!!!
