Many people had ruled Israel out of Eurovision 2015 yet we had told you here at Eurovision Ireland that this was not the case.

The Israeli newspaper ‘Yediot Acharonot’ has reported that Mariana Maximilian Blumin has been asked by IBA (Israeli National Broadcaster – undergoing restructure) and their radio station 88FM if she would represent Israel at Eurovision 2015?

According to the newspaper there were 3 artists in the running for Eurovision 2015. The other 2 were Esther Rada and Asaf Avidan.

Mariana was born in Ukraine and at the age of 3 she and her family moved to Israel. She came second in the Israeli version of ‘Idol’ being runner-up to 2008 Israeli Eurovision representative Boaz.

If Mariana accepts the offer then IBA and 88FM will decide on how a song will be selected. If she was to sing a song like her 2013 hit ‘Tango’ – then we would be very excited!

Mariana’s music is Jazz/New Age and Trance in style. A very interesting prospect!
