Romania – You may have read articles on other websites speculating that TVR (Romanian National Broadcaster) were not going to take part at Eurovision 2015.
Speculation surround comments by Mr. Stelian Tanase, the president of TVR, that the station had restructuring challenges ahead of them. Eurovision Ireland contacted the Romanian delegation and they advised
“No decision has been taken regarding our participation at ESC 2015. Also the recent articles are based on speculation due to one of our president’s interviews”
TVR have said that they will inform us when their Eurovision participation is discussed.
Romania made their début at Eurovision in 1994 when they were represented by Dan Bittman with the song ‘Dincolo de nori’. Since then they have made the Top 10 in the contest on 5 occasions, where the best placing has been third in 2005 and 2010.
UPDATE
TVR have now confirmed that they will attend Eurovision 2015 in Vienna. No details as to their selection details as of yet.
