NDR (German National Broadcaster) have unveiled a “Wildcard” selection process in the search for their Eurovision 2014 representative. The German Eurovision 2014 Selection – Unser Song für Dänemark – announced details of a new initiative to engage young performers and provide them the opportunity to take part in the German National Final on March 13th.

Adel Tawil (a popular and successful German musician) has launched a campaign for young artists to submit a video of them performing an original or cover version song onto the official Unser Song für Dänemark channel and potentially win a place in the German National Eurovision Final.

Monday November 25th at 15:00 CET is when acts can begin to submit their videos. Here is a video of Adel introducing the concept.

What do you think of this wildcard concept? Will it bring new talent to the German selection? Should other countries adopt a similar approach?
