France has decided that an internal selection for their Eurovision 2014 entry will NOT be their course of action. They will be involving the Public in a National final and opening a position for a Eurovision Fan to be part of the selection process.
November 26th will see National Broadcaster France 3 hosting a panel of music professionals to select 3 songs that will compete in a National selection for their Eurovision 2014 entry. However there is a twist. The National broadcaster has decided to open a competition for a Eurovision Fan to be a member of the selection committee.
France 3 and French radio station France Bleu are giving the opportunity to one viewer to be a part of the Selection process.
How and where do you enter this competition? There will be 3 questions for people to answer and submit to France 3 and France Bleu at a later date. There will be a draw from all the correct answers received, to determine what lucky member of the French public will be involved in the selection process.
The 3 pre-selcted songs will be presented on Natasha St-Pier’s show “Les chansons d’abord“ on France 3. The television viewing audience will be asked to vote for their Eurovision entrant for 2014. The last time there was a French National Selection was back in 2007.
One has to give credit to the French Eurovision Fans whom had conducted an extensive survey on Eurovision in France during the summer. It looks like their hard work has not gone unnoticed.

The last time France won the Eurovision Song Contest was in 1977 with the song “L’oiseau et l’enfant” performed by Marie Myriam.
