FYR Macedonia will be represented by the wonderful Tijana Dapčević that we are very excited about. So what has she been doing since her announcement as Eurovision 2014 artist?
We like to call Tijana our BBB – Blonde Balkan Bombshell – and she has been busy over the course of the last few months. We have read that Tijana’s song for Eurovision will be upbeat – which we are very happy to hear. She certainly knows how to rock a stage and is sure to wake Copenhagen up when she takes to the stage at Eurovision. Here is a sample of her amazing work.
In a recent interview with nadlanu.com, Tijana spoke of her musical influences “When it comes to music, I have listened to Metallica and Guns-n-Roses. Younger I listened to the Police, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and I have stayed loyal to them to this day. Among the local artists I like Leb i sol, and Azra.
Her life with Eurovision – Tijana says that she does follow the contest – especially with her son. Like all of us she has friends and family over to vote on their favourites in the contest – and usually get it wrong. We hear your pain Tijana! But she is certainly looking forward to representing her country of Macedonia in the contest.
So what does one do if they are going to perform in front of over 170 million viewers at Eurovision? I would guess start rehearsals. Not in Tijana’s case. You decide to star in a Theater Role. On Thursday, 17 October at the “Nis National Theatre” you will be able to see Tijana perform in the 2 man show “Scandal Broke,” written by Dusan Jankovic and directed by Milica Kralj.
The play stars Tijana Dapčević and Milorad Damjanovic with production design by Milos Todorovic, costume designer Sonia Mrkobrada and produced by Tamara Todorovic.
The play is described as “a comedy that tells of an unlikely marriage. The main heroes of Aco and Bosa are torn between the bourgeois concept of life and their desire to live life as they wish.”
To say that we are looking forward to meeting Tijana in Copenhagen is an understatement! Stay tuned for more news on Tijana at Eurovision. Are you looking forward to hearing her song for Eurovision?
