Eurovision 2014 is fast approaching and several countries have already asked for submissions and even selected their artists. We continue our look at potential Irish artists for Denmark 2014. We have to go back to the men this week as there is some serious talent out there!
Today we have the following singers for your consideration
- Daniel Murphy
- Andrew Mann
Daniel is a singer/songwriter and producer from Dublin. He is known across the capital for his live performances and has many well-known artists who follow him. His music is very passionate and emotional. If people are looking for a ballad from a man who knows how perform – and is easy on the eye too – then Daniel is your choice.
His recent song “Bruised and Broken” is a perfect example of this. Storytelling at it’s best. The song is typical of his music – wonderfully structured that builds with each verse. Check it out for yourself
Now what do I have to say about Andrew Mann? You all know that we have a lot of time for this singer here at Eurovision Ireland. Runner-up to Jedward in 2012 with the wonderful song “Here I Am”, Andrew has been very busy. He has taken part in “The Voice of Ireland” and released his fantastic EP “Middle Of The Dancefloor” that we reviewed earlier in the year and loved it.
We all know that Andrew likes Eurovision and we think that Eurovision would certainly like a serious artist like him in the contest. We saw that at the contest this year that many of the real musicians scored well in the competition – like Marco Mengoni from Italy and ByeAlex from Hungary – there is certainly a hunger for artists like Andrew from both the public and the juries.
Two very different artists that certainly bring something different to the table and would offer the tv audience a real choice at Eurosong and Eurovision.
Who would you like to see in the Irish National Final?
