Eurovision Legend Johnny Logan is BACK in a song contest! Yes tonight the 3 time Eurovision Winner took part in the RTE song contest show “The Hit”.
Johnny is competing this week against the wonderful Irish artist Duke Special. Both of them selected a song composed by an up and coming song writer.
You can look at the full show and more importantly Johnny Logan’s new song “Prayin” – This is not a ballad but it is amazing! Watch it here
Johnny Logan selected the Linkin Park inspired song “Prayin'” by 30 year old writer Alan Earls.
“Alan has just recently gotten married to his girlfriend Alison. They cut their honeymoon short so Alan could participate on The Hit. He works in Dell but is trying his best to make a career in music as it’s his one true passion. This song is about his father. Alan went to his Dad’s first anniversary mass last December and remembered the priest saying ‘Brian Earls we’re praying for you.’ He went home that night and wrote Prayin’. His tattoo is in honor of his father and is also a declaration of love to Alison.”
The song sees Johnny Logan singing and rapping in the song which has a strong guitar and 80’s feel to it. A stunning song that is instantly memorable!

Duke Special has recorded the song “1969” written by 16 year old Aaron Hacket.
“Aaron has just finished transition year. He has been singing for as long as he can remember and is a self taught guitar player. He began songwriting when he was 12 years old. Aaron loves vintage things; clothes, movies, and music. This is reflected in 1969 – this song is about teenage love in the 1960s in the USA – hanging out in diners, playing pool, sneaking out after hours and being ‘bad kids in the dark’.”
If you are in Ireland you can download the song by texting Song 1 to 57082 or by downloading the song on iTunes here
