Paolo Meneguzzi – who represented Switzerland at Eurovision in 2008 – is back with a new song and album set for release in September. His new single is strangely called “La Vita Cos’è” – but not the same song as Switzerland’s Eurovision entry in 2000.

Meneguzzi brings this up tempo pop song that is full of energy and passion – which we felt was lacking from his 2008 Eurovision entry “Era Stupendo” which was a pre contest favorite – yet failed to qualify for the Grand Final finishing 13th in the Semi Final.

“La Vita Cos’è” is a great pop song and Paolo’s vocals seemed to have aged perfectly like his good self. The song is available now to download on i-tunes and the album later in September. The song was produced in collaboration with Max Marcolini , who has worked with Italian legend Zucchero for many years. Marcolini has joined Meneguzzi and Renato Droghetti in the production of single.

Paolo spoke of the writing and recording of the song saying: ” A way to express what I think about freedom and how to fight against whatever surface that surrounds our lives. You can be whatever you are, but you’re the only one who can decide, what, how and when things happen in your life “. Very profound indeed, but when the song is this good you can say whatever you want.

The video for the song is rather cheeky. One might go as to say that it is supposed to be the making of a “Booty Call Video” but it all fits very well with the song. The man has style and a great voice and this is a great pop song. One for the playlist.

We would suggest to Swiss TV that they look at Paolo again for Eurovision 2014 as he certainly has more stage charisma than Takasa this year.
