Eric Saade has just moments ago released the video for his new song “I’m Coming Home”. It is a pop song but not in the same Schlager sound as “Popular” or “Manboy”.
“I’m coming home” is a mid tempo song with a strong guitar main melody running throughout the song. The chorus has a resounding “I’m Coming Home” which makes the song sound anthemic.
The song is about a man who comes to his senses and wants to reunite with his previous love and makes his way to her. The video sees a more grown up Eric – more Man and less Boy. How could the video director see Eric in mortal peril. Does he survive and make it back to his “True Love” – I will not spoil the ending of the video. Some of you will be happy and some will not be – you sadistic bunch.
A much more mature sound from Eric and let’s hope that this is his new direction musically. He still looks the poster boy but he has definitely grown up since being “Popular” at Eurovision 2011.
Can you see this style of music gaining Eric extra fans?
