Farid Mammadov came close to taking Eurovision back to Baku this year when he finished second in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2013. In an interview Farid has laid out his plans and hopes for the future – and they could include Eurovision again.
Having thoroughly enjoyed his time in Malmo and at the contest, he has big plans for the future. First up, the next 2 months will be spent working on new songs which will be added to his new album.
In September he will be performing a concert in Baku and hopes to take the same show to Moscow and throughout Eastern Europe. By then the political rumblings of Russia not receiving any points from Azerbaijan will be long forgotten and forgiven!
Media in the East are calling Farid the potential new Dima Bilan and this has prompted the question would he ever consider returning to Eurovision like Dima Bilan did?
“I don’t know, maybe if it is necessary. I am full of energy. I haven’t done anything yet. I want to show people what they haven’t seen. And if I could, I would go to Eurovision again.”
Well he is one face that we would certainly like to see back at Eurovision again – well I know that Elaine Dove from the Eurovision Ireland Team would like that very much!
