Bulgaria ‘s Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulovand Stoyan Yankulov have 1st rehearsal of ‘Samo Shampioni” (Only Champions)
In a stark contrast to Malta that comes before it – this is an uptempo drumbeat song.
Styling
Elistsa is in a striking white jacket with red rope decoration and Stoyan in black behind his drum kit. As they bang the drums, water spurts up from them adding drama to the performance.
Vocals
The song is quite repetitive and there are 3 backing singers that carry most of the main vocals.
Staging
The basis of this performance is a lot of intricate drum and stick work which involves about 20 drums on stage and some glow in the dark drumsticks. There is also a dancer who plays the bagpipes on stage (although it looks like wrestling with a swan) and then sports a massive kind of tribal mask on his head which does resemble something that got run over on the road.
Final Analysis
As a performance, this is great and harks back to a similar performance in 2007 in Helsinki with “Water” As a song though this totally passes me by.

Am not sure about this entry. I wouldn’t mind Bulgaria making the final but then what? It hasn’t a hope of winning and am not sure her warbling will endear this entry to the viewing voting public.
Hey guys, do you what’s the story with escxtra.tv being shut down by the EBU? Apparently some copyright issue. I know this isn’t your problem but am supporting a few sites this year and alongside yourselves, ET and EscKaz, they are so cool. What’s happened? ;(
Good work again today btw :)
