It’s June and it’s Pride month. Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are going to highlight some of the LGBTQ+ artists to have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest.

For June 2nd, we are continuing with Akylas. They represented Greece with “Ferto”, taking 10th place with 220 points. Akylas is Queer. You can watch their performance of “Ferto” below:

Queer is a term used by those wanting to reject specific labels of romantic orientation, sexual orientation and/or gender identity. It can also be a way of rejecting the perceived norms of the LGBT community (racism, sizeism, ableism etc).
