If you wanted an interesting lyric in Basel’s fair city, then the one sung by today’s birthday boy Marko Bošnjak might have hot the spot. It was about a variety of cake. And who doesn’t like cake? Even one that mentions poison. It could be an ironically names poison cake. After all, it did contain chocolate, sugar, spice and much much more besides. Is it making you want to eat cake? Well, the cake eaters were perhaps not watching in the droves on the May evening – except in Slovenia.
