
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s May 25th:
Saturday 25th May 2002
On this day in 2002, the 47th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Tallinn, Estonia. Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, North Macedonia, Romania and Switzerland all returned. Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Portugal all withdrew from the Contest. Latvia took victory with Marie N performing “I Wanna” and 176 points.
