It is two weeks since SRG SSR, the Swiss national broadcaster won the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmö, however host city interest has already begun for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.

Fribourg are set to examine a host city bid – with John Gobbi, CEO of HC Fribourg-Gottéron and the local government of Fribourg in discussions. John Gobbi, CEO of HC Fribourg-Gottéron, had the following to say:

“We are currently analysing and discussing if we could bring Eurovision 2025 to Fribourg. We are also analysing if the ice rink could meet the size requirements. It is certainly big but there are bigger arenas in Switzerland.”

The local government of Fribourg, had the following to say:

“We are asking ourselves if the city could host such an event, notably in terms of accommodation and arena sizes etc.”
