Congratulations to the winner!

Thank you to everyone that joined us in this Icelandic journey and don’t forget to follow our Eurovision 2024 coverage on our website and on our social media platforms.

Good night Europe! See you soon!

22:07 And the winner is Hera Bjork!

22:03 The votinge lines are closed.

21:58 I wish I could understand Icelandic. Such an interesting language. Maybe I’ll take this challenge :)

21:56 While we are waiting, Dija is performing her new song.

21: 48 Soon we will find out the Icelandic representative for Eurovision 2024.

21:44 I’m not sure if his last high note was exactly how it was intented, but nevertheless it was a good performance. Now it’s all up to you, Icelanders.

21: 42 I’m jamming along to the Wild Wild West. I can’t fault Bashar’s performance. That’s going to be tough choice.

21:41 It’s time for Bashar Murad to perform again.

21:40 Wouldn’t it be great to see Hera again on the big stage? The song definitely gets you in a good mood.

21:37 What an iconic performance! Loved it!

21:34 Hera Björk performs first and seems to really enjoy it this time!

21:29 Congratulations to both acts and let’s see who’s going to win it all!

21:28 And the final 2 are Hera Björk and Bashar Murad!

21:27 For the ones interested, it sounds like this ‘I feel it coming… uh uhh Into the Atmosphere’ :))

21:24 We have an ad break and I’m interestingly singing Hera Björk‘s song combined with Into The Atmosphere. Haha what a mash-up in my head.

21:22 Iceland, STOP voting!

21:17 There is still time to vote for your favourite (of course, if you are in Iceland)

21:05 Really curious who’s going to go through but we still have to wait.

20:58 The acts have done their part. Soon, the juries and the public will have their saying. Then, the top 2 will go to the Super Final. Who do you think will make it? For me it’s Anita and Bashar Murad.

20:56 Sigga Ózk, the celestial dreamer, “floats” on moonbeams. Her delicate voice—like frost-kissed petals— brings good energy. The song feels weightless like a cosmic lullaby but can it pierce the Eurovision stratosphere? Sigga’s song reminds me of the electronic songs from the early 2000s. The camera seeks her eyes, but she’s not always connecting with it. This can be described as sweet but is it strong enough? I enjoed it and it has definitely left me with a smile on my face.

20:54 We are Into The Atmosphere

20:51 Time now for the last contestant of the night Sigga Ózk

20:49 Bashar Murad, has a voice as smooth as aged whiskey. See what I’ve done here? “Wild West” defies labels: part folk, part modern, all magic. Bashar is joined on the stage by 4 dancers all dressed appropriately in cowboy-style outfits. Bashar, all in white, connects well with camera and delivers a solid performance. Saddle up—can Bashar conquer your heart and win your vote tonight?

20: 48 Wild West happening now in Iceland!

20:37 The hosts are now talking with the acts that have already performed. Howerver, we are looking forward to seeing the next act. The internet is divided when it comes to Bashar Murad. They either love it or hate it. What do you think? Will Iceland love a bit of Wild West tonight?

20:33 ANITA – the  silver pop princess of Iceland. Lots of shiny outfits, silver fans and slick choreography are invading the stage.  The song is quite catchy and makes me tap my feet. I do love a good, happy song and this ticks my boxes. Her performance reminds me of what we used to see from Charlotte Perrelli. I’m glad to see a better connection with the camera (compared to the semis) but we do need less wider shots. This coud be a serious contender to win tonight. What do you think?

20: 31 Are we on a Downfall with Anita?

20: 27 After a long ad break, time for contestant number 3 Anita

20:22 Cha cha cha cha! The public is chanting the iconic song from last year hehe

20:20 “Scared of Heights” is her emotional battleground, a pop song that feels like an anthem. The chorus catches like wildfire. And oh, that wind machine – A Eurovision Staging Classic. Hera  locks eyes with the camera, daring us to soar with her. Wouldn’t mind seeing her again on the main stage in Malmo.

20:17 Hera is performing the English version, Scared of Heights. Instantly iconic.

20:15 We welcome back on the Icelandic Eurovision Stage, Hera Björk and her song Við förum hærra

20:13 VÆB, the enigmatic duo, transport us to a bygone era with “Bíómynd.” Imagine sepia-toned cinemas, flickering film reels, silver, shiny costumes, a princess, an astronaut and a gorilla with a trumpet. What can go wrong?? Can their charm sway the Eurovision masses? We’re about to find out. P.S. Am I the only one thinking of Jedward right now?

20:12

20:08 Time for our first contestant.  1. VÆB – “Bíómynd”

20:02 And these are our hosts for tonight Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, Siggi Gunnars and Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson

20:00 We have Selma on the stage singinging her All Out of Luck

19:51 We’re still in the pre-stage of the show but hopefully we will kick-off in any second.

19:47 Good evening Europe, are you ready? The show is about to start. Join us!
