This year, we have already seen the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, but the Coronavirus has hit even more Song Contests.
This year, we’ve started to cover The Pan Celtic Song Contest. This was due to take place next month in Carlow, Ireland. Only four of the six competing nations had selected or announced who were representing them.
The Sami Grand Prix was due to take place over the Easter weekend in Kautokeino, Norway and has been cancelled. The Contest would find the Sami representative for Liet International. Representatives could have come from Finland, Norway, Russia or Sweden.
Liet International was also due to take place at the start of next month. Liet International is a Song Contest that highlights minority languages from across Europe and was due to take place in Aabenraa, Denmark. While Ireland didn’t have an entry, the UK had three entries in Cornish, Manx and Scottish-Gaelic.
